Release Notes V2.7.0

Release Notes

IP Audio Client

Release Date

Important

IP Audio Client V2.7 License: It is possible to install this new release of IP Audio Client onto a device that is running an un-licensed firmware, but once that is done it is not possible to go back to the unlicensed firmware, even if they are the same. i.e. If IPAC 2.7 is installed on an M400 SIP Opus 1.3.4 (which is unlicensed), the firmware will install, but it will not be possible to roll back to SIP Opus anymore. Another example: when updating firmware from previous IP Speaker versions (e.g. IP Speaker V2.6.2 or previous) it will be possible to update but not to roll back.

Change Log

New Features

  • RTP Source supports 2 different Playback Modes:

    • Regular Modeplays back audio maintaining a constant delay, which is the same across multiple devices that are part of a system. This allows the possibility to keep a synchronized play-out. It should be used when playing BGM over RTP. When the RTP audio stream is received the switch to the RTP source is NOT instantaneous, it takes approximately 25 seconds before the stream starts to play. When playing back in regular mode the end to end delay is ~5 seconds.

    • Low Latency Modeplays back with the lowest possible latency. It is a mode to be used for RTP paging, or short announcements received over RTP. When the RTP audio stream is received the switch to the RTP source is instantaneous. When playing back in Low Latency mode the end to end delay is between 130 - 200ms.

  • AES67 Operation mode: enable the possibility to discover, connect and play streams from third party systems supporting the AES67 standard, including Audinate Dante.

  • New source available: IC Paging. Allows the usage of IP Audio Client as an IC Paging endpoint that can receive paged announcement from any IC Paging Master station (e.g. PS Touch or Annuncicom PS1)

  • IP Former TPA400 only:

    • Visualize Amplifier temperature on System Status page

  • Firmware changed name from "IP Speaker" in "IP Audio Client" or abbreviated "ipac

Fixes / Improvements

  • Informacast:

    • Fix volume configuration (ICast volume to Player volume conversion) - It's now allowed to set volume on Informacast to any value from 0 to 13.

Known Limitations / Issues

  • RTP Dynamic Payload Types not handled (i.e. All the following formats from Instreamer Classic are not playing on IP Audio Client)r:

    • G.711 uLaw / Mono 24kHz - G.711 aLaw / Mono 24KHz

    • PCM 24 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 8 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 24 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 8 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 32 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 12 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 32 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 12 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 44.1 kHz 16bit stereo little endian - PCM 48KHz 16bit stereo little endian - PCM 48KHz 16bit stereo big endian

  • Audio file names doesn't accept special characters and maximum one space between words

  • When uploading audio files as .zip archive the maximum size is 16MB.

  • Configuration Tool: SIP Server settings related to username must be entered manually in the tool for each device despite they are copied from one device to all others when pushing the configuration or copying and inserting.

  • The configuration tool, when controlling a large number of devices. needs to be refreshed by clicking on the "READ ALL" button to display again all the devices after new configurations are applied.
