New Features
Below is a quick recap of the features that this device is capable of:
- Possibility to configure 5 different sources among 7 different types:
- SIP
- HTTP
- RTP (multicast or unicast)
- Local Files playback triggered via UDP command (large device storage 16GB)
- Informacast notification ready (license is required)
- SynApps notification ready
- Barix Radio pre-configured
- Assign 5 priority levels with automatic switch among those when one top-level source is not available
- Password protected Web UI used for configuration (protocol configurable access via HTTP or HTTPs)
- Exposed settings: Network (DHCP. Static IP, Avahi discovery, Sonic IP, NTP)
- Dedicated Speaker Status page to verify source playback status in real-time
- Automatic FW rescue process
- FW compatible with TPA400 - M400 hardware from Barix
Fixes
- SIP Audio calls: solved issue related to the quality of the audio played when using SIP
- Informacast license validation process fixed for new image names of IP Speaker
- Audio crackles when applying network settings is now fixed
- When changing from Static to DHCP method, the IP is changed accordingly without affecting the audio quality and the playback is recovered automatically
- Password modification fields in Settings page of the UI are now working correctly
- Solved deadlock that was causing HTTP streams to stop playing after a random time
- HTTP streams are automatically recovered in case of temporary internet disconnection - no reboot is necessary
- Speaker Status shows correctly SIP PBX registration
- Proper handle of UDP messages received via script when triggering local files (timing is not anymore required)
- Allow the possibility to upload only playable files as local files
- Source priority is now handled correctly despite temporary disconnections of top level sources
- RTP source type fixed, when disabled it doesn't play
- UI updated correctly on Safari used on iOS and macOS
Known Limitations
- Manual reboot required when Avahi setting is enabled / disabled to activate / deactivate the function
- G.711 uLaw / Mono 24kHz - G.711 aLaw / Mono 24KHz - Not handled by the playback engine
- PCM 24 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 8 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 24 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 8 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 32 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 12 Khz 16 bit mono big endian - PCM 32 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 12 Khz 16 bit mono little endian - PCM 44.1 kHz 16bit stereo little endian - PCM 48KHz 16bit stereo little endian - PCM 48KHz 16bit stereo big endian - Not handled by the Playback engine
- Informacast version supported and tested: 12.1.1 - when used with 12.17.1 the device doesn't play the notifications, despite handling the priority correctly.
- Certain HTTP playlist URLs are not parsed by the playback library, i.e.:http://www.radioswissjazz.ch/live/mp3.m3u
Known Issues
- Random clicks heard when notifications from Informacast are received (using Informacast advanced version 12.1.1)
- Syslog service not working
- G.711 uLaw / Mono 8KHz - Handled by playback engine but audio drops and crackles may be experienced
- When playing notifications from SynApps and Informacast there might very short audio drops
- Reset to factory defaults from UI (also known as soft-reset) reset also network settings
