Password Issues
The newer Linux-based Barix products (BarionetM44, Audiopoint, Instreamer ICE, Exstreamer M400, …) have a unique password printed on the back side of the device. That password can be of course changed in the Barix setup.
If you have forgotten your configured password, then you can only reset the device back to default settings.
If the printed password on the device backside is not accepted, then please:
check for lower case “L” (l) and upper case “i” (I), these characters can easily mixed.
also check, that the lower part of password line is properly printed, unfortunately we have seen already problems where the lower part was not printed properly and e.g. “y” was identified as “v”.
If all that did not help, then please contact Barix support (support@barix.com)
On some newer firmwares we have introduced higher security standards for the configurable passwords, there the new configured password must have:
- minimum 12 characters
- minimum one upper case letter
- minimum one lower case letter
- minimum one number
AND
- minimum one special character (e.g. @!"§$%&?)
