Instreamer (Classic)
This is the successor of the Instreamer100. The difference is inside, instead of the IPAM100 the IPAM302 is used.
It converts any analog or digital audio source, including tuners and CD players, into high-quality VBR MPEG1 and MPEG2 streams (mono/stereo mode). G.711 (mono) and PCM as well (mono/stereo). The audio is encoded in real-time, and the generated audio stream can be distributed, via an IP-based network or the Internet, to one or more receivers or Shoutcast/Icecast-servers.
Barix Instreamer can be easily managed via a web browser interface using PCs, web pads, PDAs or other web-enabled devices. With serial and Ethernet control APIs, open IP-standards, and the MP3 format, the device can also be integrated with other components.
Connecting the Barix Instreamer to audio equipment is made simple by offering stereo RCA analog inputs.
Differences to the older Instreamer 100:
- there are no S/PDIF interfaces on the newer Instreamer available anymore
- different power supply, the new device uses now 5VDC power supplies !!
- the new Instreamer supports nor MP3 in VBR upto 192 kbps(as on the Instreamer100) and additional also CBR upto 320 kbps
