Can I download audio files from a remote server to be played ?

YES, on the Streaming Client firmware there is a function “Remote Update” which allows also to update to content of attached USB sticks via HTTP. For more details consult the Streaming Client technical documentation. Alternate products would be the Exstreamer Store&Play or the Exstreamer M400, which have similar features for the such applications.
